The National Growth Areas Alliance (NGAA) have revealed that Wyndham has experienced the highest rate of growth of any municipality in Australia in the last five years.
The research, undertaken by population demographers forecast.id on behalf of the NGAA, analysed the number of jobs created across Australia from 2011 to 2016. Wyndham topped the charts, with 20,623 jobs created – jumping from 56,619 to 77,242– a growth rate of 36.4 per cent. The figures are tipped to continue to soar, with several new businesses popping up around town.
Six industrial developments at the Drystone Industrial Estate have added 1200 new jobs, Target Australia is relocating its national headquarters to Williams Landing, and many small businesses are being set up in Wyndham.
A brand-new St Vincent’s Private Hospital in Werribee will deliver 350 jobs, and the existing Mercy Hospital is being expanded, creating more employment in the health sector.
This is great news for the residents of Grace as it provides more opportunities for employment closer to home. More jobs in Wyndham could also contribute to more investment in infrastructure for the area, leading to an even higher standard of living than the current standards, which are already exceptional.
