Wyndham City has welcomed the State Government’s announcement that it will invest more than $4.4 million dollars in vital infrastructure projects for the municipality’s fastest growing suburbs.
Victoria’s Minister for Local Government, Marlene Kairouz, joined Wyndham City Mayor, Cr Peter Maynard, on Monday 4th December, 2017, to announce investment in four major Wyndham projects.
Ms Kairouz said the Victorian Government would invest in the following projects:
Cr Maynard said Wyndham City was also investing more than $4 million in these projects that would make a significant difference to the health and wellbeing of Wyndham communities.
“These projects will provide places that will bring people together, encourage healthy living, stimulate economic activity and enable the delivery of essential services to our residents in their local communities,” Cr Maynard said.
“Council has invested over $4 million in these projects to give them a kick start. But with the support of the Victorian Government through the Growing Suburbs Fund, we can ensure that these projects will be delivered when the community needs them.”
“The transformation of the Tarneit Community Learning Centre will enable Council to provide flexible services to the community. The space will become a safe and welcoming hub for residents to connect and learn new skills locally.”
“Co-located with a P-9 school, the Truganina East Integrated Family Learning Centre will provide early education and specialist support services for children, community learning for adults, and formal training in early years’ education and care.”
“The Williams Landing Reserve Integrated Sports and Community Hub will be a vibrant, accessible, sustainable facility while Saltwater Outdoor Youth Space will provide young community members with a welcoming and inviting space for a range of activities.”
“This dedicated funding, made available by the Growing Suburbs Fund, has helped Council provide infrastructure that assists in addressing areas of need and we look forward to continuing to work with the State Government to provide for our fastest growing communities.”
