Wyndham celebrates International Women’s Day
Wyndham City Council are celebrating International Women’s Day on Thursday 8th March with the inaugural International Women’s Day Gala – The Colour of Desire - at the Wyndham Cultural Centre.
The gala evening will feature performances from seven women, exploring both Western and South Asian traditions through music, poetry and dance, including performances from:
- Spoken word artist Sukhjit Kaur Khalsa
- Dancer Shyama Sasidharan
- Visual artist Anindita Banjeree
- Dance and academic Dr Priya Srinivasan
The gala will be an opportunity to recognise the ongoing struggle of gender equality but also celebrate the economic, social and political achievements of women and enlighten the way forward.
