A new road, which is helping to ease traffic congestion, has opened in Wyndham Vale.
An extension of Armstrong Rd has been constructed, providing a straight-through connection between Greens Rd and Blackforest Rd.
The $11.5 million Wyndham City project will shorten travel times to Wyndham Vale train station and decrease reliance on the roads.
Reducing the reliance on local roads makes them both safer and cuts down commute times.
In the 2019 Wyndham City budget, $146 million has been allocated to capital works including $37 million to local roads.
Works have also been progressing well on the rebuild and widening of Forsyth Rd with the number of lanes going from two to four.
The project is being completed ahead of the State Government’s upgrade of the Forsyth Rd Freeway interchange to alleviate disruption.
